Event cements BDE as champion for local enterprise

A total of 43 Barking and Dagenham businesses were shortlisted in 12 categories including Retailer of the Year, Business Person award and the highly prestigious Business of the Year group at this year’s Thames Gateway Business Awards. In addition to the winners, three local businesses were Highly Commended and another three Commended for their achievements.

The successful journey for a number of finalists and two of the winners started at the Barking and Dagenham Business Awards earlier this year, where a number of them were also shortlisted, and West & Co won the Special Achievement Award.

Chris Oliver, Chair of Barking and Dagenham Enterprise, said:

“Awards like these really show the quality of local business in Barking and Dagenham. For us, it was especially rewarding to see two local enterprises walk away with top awards and prove that they can be a success in the borough as well as outside.
