Barking Enterprise Centre
Barking Enterprise Centre opened on Monday 7 November. The centre is located at the junction of Cambridge and Linton Road a couple of minutes walk from Barking Station. The four storey building is one of two centres being built in the borough as part of the Local Enterprise Growth Initiative (LEGI) programme.
It provides much needed space for small businesses with ‘easy-in, easy-out’ terms, and aims to bring home the message to local residents and visitors that Barking and Dagenham is a place where businesses can start up and flourish. The centre provides businesses with a range of facilities, services and support needed to boost their growth.
The ground floor offers a training, two one-to-one counselling rooms, a double height lobby and reception, the Chamber of Commerce office and business start-up/business support service. The centre provides just under 50 small office units along with a kitchen on each floor.
The centre will be a place where businesses interact and learn from each other, as well as from on-site business counsellors. The location is highly accessible being a few minutes walk from Barking Station and has been created to conform with rigorous environmental friendly design criteria including photovoltaic cells and a brown roof.
Agilisys manage the Enterprise Centre and run the borough’s business start-up and business support service.
