Business Centres
A central part of the Barking & Dagenham Enterprise programme is the building of two business centres.
Two centres, one in Barking and one in Dagenham, opened in November 2011. The Barking Enterprise Centre offers managed office space for start-ups and expanding small businesses whilst the Dagenham Enterprise Centre offers prestigious workshop space.
The Dagenham Business Centre was part financed by the London Development Agency’s ERDF Programme 2007-13, securing £205,877 European Union funding for the environmental aspects of the scheme ensuring the building achieved a BREEAM Excellent rating.
Barking and Dagenham has the second highest rate of business start ups in the country and the business centres form part of the Council’s strategy to foster business growth and ensure that new businesses stay within the borough rather than move elsewhere.
