Board Members
The members of the SJE Board are drawn from the Barking & Dagenham community, and represent local business, education, community groups and other agencies in the borough. The Board meets regularly to drive forward the SJE programme and further the positive relationship between the borough and business.
Clive Wilding
Chair
Project Director of Barking Riverside, one of the largest residential schemes in the UK and a transformational driver
for the borough. Clive has extensive experience in the development industry.
Cathy Walsh
Vice Chair - Skills, Employment and 14-19 Agenda
Cathy is Principal and Chief Executive of Barking and Dagenham College which has around 12,000 learners. She was a member of the BJS Board and is on the Chamber of Commerce Executive.
Mark Kass
Vice Chair - Enterprise and Business Support
Mark is Enterprise Development Manager at Barking and Dagenham Small Business Centre. He writes a regular enterprise column in thenews. Mark was an advisor to the Chair of the BJS Board.
Cllr Mick McCarthy
Vice Chair - Sustainable Regeneration
Mick is Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Councillor for Eastbrook Ward. He sits on Thames Gateway London Partnership and Gateway to London boards. Mick was a member of both the BDE and BJS Boards.
